DING SHER
▃
With a contemplative heart, Ding Sher rediscovers the world and the self. His artistic practice, always rooted in Eastern philosophy and guided by contemporary experimentation, explores the contemporary translation of "writing" within the two-dimensional narrative of painting and the spatial realm of installation. Through layering, entanglement, dissolution, and reconstruction, he completes a dialogue between the individual's state of mind and the universe, between local cultural context and international discourse.
Voir unfolds layer by layer through five sections: Observing Phenomena, Realm, Heart, Purity, and Nothingness. Moving from the outside in, from concrete to abstract, it presents the progressive spiritual path within Sher's artistic world.
Observing Phenomena is the contemplation and refinement of the world's appearance. Historical memory and contemporary reflection intertwine, constructing a visual expression that transcends boundaries through visible images.
Observing Realm is the reconstruction of space and field. Art is no longer merely something to be seen, but becomes an accessible and perceptible realm of reality.
Observing the Heart is the process of reaching the inner self . Peeling back the surface, it delves into the depths of humanity, allowing neglected emotions, memories, and truths to be rediscovered.
Observing Purity is the clarity that comes after simplification. It involves stripping away superficiality, returning to the essence of art, and rebuilding a simple yet strong connection between the soul and the world.
Observing Nothingness is a spiritual realm that transcends material objects. From seeing for the first time to seeing it again, from the tangible to the intangible, it ultimately arrives at emptiness and freedom.
Voir not only signifies reunion, but also implicitly contains the artistic proposition of rediscovery. In this era, can we still revisit those Eastern images buried by the clamor of modern life? Can we still revisit the aesthetic emotions that remain vibrant in the complex modern context?
May every visitor who enters this exhibition, encounter their true self.
